Welcome to Master Gardeners of North Alabama (MGNA), Inc. Web site. Our association, along with Limestone County and Morgan County, are part of the Tri-county Master Gardeners program sponsored by Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES). Ken Creel, Regional Extension Agent, supervises the Tri-county Master Gardeners Program at the Madison County Extension Center off Cook Ave in Huntsville, AL.
The Master Gardeners program is rich in history throughout the United States and Canada. Here in Madison County, we have 200 active members and 60 interns.
Our organization is a Chapter 501(c)(3) non-profit and pride ourselves in participating in a number of community projects in Madison County that provide horticulture information to the public. Throughout the year we sponsor educational field trips and public garden classes as well as co-sponsoring projects with the Huntsville Botanical Garden and local community charitable organizations.
Our association meets normally on the second Thursday of the month in Murray Hall at the Botanical Garden in Huntsville. We welcome any Master Gardener from surrounding areas to participate in our programs.
We encourage anyone interested in gardening, whether it’s flowers, fruits, vegetables, trees or lawn care to become a master in your interest.
