Our Winter Master Gardener Training Course Begins Feb.  8, 2018. 

Are you interested in learning more about becoming a Master Gardener? Take these first steps.

  1.  First, learn a few basics about the Master Gardener program.    It’s helpful to know what it means to be an Alabama Master Gardener.  The purpose of the course,  at its “roots” (pun intended -hee hee) is a volunteer training course, so be sure you:
  2.  Next, apply for the upcoming Master Gardener Training Course specifically for your county or region.
    • The Tri-County Master Gardener Course page has course information for Madison, Limestone and Morgan County residents.
      If you live in Madison Count, you can also call the Extension Office at 819 Cook Avenue, Huntsville.

What is the Master Gardener Program? 

The Alabama Master Gardener Program is provided and administered by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. It is an educational program to train and certify individuals who, in turn, volunteer their expertise and time in support of the Cooperative Extension effort as well as organizations that foster horticultural science and best practices in local communities.

The 13-week Tri-County Master Gardener Course is offered twice annually for individuals living in Madison, Morgan and Limestone Counties of Alabama. If you live elsewhere in Alabama and are interested in a course near you, visit this site and contact your county Extension Office.
