Become a Master Gardener ~ Our Fall Class Has Begun!

The fall 2017 TriCounty Master Gardener Class began on August 10. Our next class will begin in 2018.  Check back here for details as that date is finalized. 

Are you interested in learning more about becoming a Master Gardener? Take these first steps…

  1. Know what it means to be one. It’s very helpful to understand what it means to be an Alabama Master Gardener before you decide to apply for an upcoming Master Gardener Training Course.  Visit the Alabama Cooperative Extension Website  and  Review the Master Gardener Application and Volunteer Service Agreement.
  2. Apply for an upcoming Master Gardener Training Course!  If your reside in Madison, Morgan or Limestone Counties of Alabama, you’ll find specific Information about upcoming courses at the Tri-County Master Gardener Course Page. If you reside in Madison County and need assistance,  please contact us or stop by the Madison County Extension Office at 819 Cook Avenue, Huntsville.

What is the Master Gardener Program? 

The Alabama Master Gardener Program is provided and administered by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. It is an educational program to train and certify individuals who, in turn, volunteer their expertise and time in support of the Cooperative Extension effort as well as organizations that foster horticultural science and best practices in local communities.

The 13-week Tri-County Master Gardener Course is offered twice annually for individuals living in Madison, Morgan and Limestone Counties of Alabama. If you live elsewhere in Alabama and are interested in a course near you, visit this site and contact your county Extension Office.
